monday happy to you kittens!

katie here, popping in to let you know that one of my favorite fragrances is having its first birthday!

clean, cruelty-free, and vegan, summer hours is fast becoming one of the top fragrance lines around. summer hours uses modern blends, but with classical, tried and true notes that we all love and gravitate towards.

already at just a year old, summer hours is in the top boutiques and online stores across the country; soon she’ll be sleeping in her big-girl bed, selling candles, reed diffusers, and an anti-aging body oil— {hint hint to any top dogs reading this!}.

to refresh, i first claimed bragging rights on this baby bear cub brand here. summer hours aims to conjure and celebrate the best of summer memories, but in olfactory tones….it’s like a danny zuko and sandy olsson ballad about lost virginity in a perfume, but with emphasis on the orange blossom and hyacinth scent of the backseat upholstery.

each of the four perfumes have distinctive fragrance notes to evoke different regions, moods ,and ideas.

you can buy the sample set with all four scents-i did this first so i could try them all out in person, and then went on to buy a fullsize of my favorite.

le weekend, with top notes of cut grass and bergamot, and undercut of sweetness with honeysuckle, peony, and linden blossom is wildly fresh and feminine. it’s definitely a floral fragrance, but you can still get away with your nose ring and micro-dosing when the kids go to bed.

another of their sweeter scents, is new wave, with its lemon, bergamot, and sea salt top notes, and white musk + jasmine base. new wave evokes tan-lines, cocktails with pineapple garnishes, and undercover make-out sessions in the palm trees with the cowboy junkies on repeat.

for those who prefer less floral, but still want that summer, “give me all the aperol spritz“-vibes, i would suggest 80 degrees. 80 degrees channels all the good mykonos zeal before we had elon musk, the kardashians, and amazon.

tangerine, mandarin, and coconut rule supreme in this in this intoxicating scent that will have you raging in the clubs with lindsay lohan until dawn and super-yachting the day after over the bluest seas you’ve ever seen.

my most favorite summer hours fragrance and the one i ended up buying a full-size of is romanesque. if i could drink it as mouthwash i would. i’m typically your basic floral girl–like if i can’t wear a laura ashley dress with my perfume, i won’t buy the fragrance, so it’s surprising that romanesque is my favorite….a floral it is not.

with notes of fig, bergamot, pine, and rose, romanesque is described as “a deeply evocative fragrance.

to me, romanesque IS summer in italy. i imagine the romanesque wearing-woman, en-residence at le sirenuse for the month of august. she wears pucci-kaftans to morning coffee and second-hand slip-dresses to cocktail parties at the ambassador’s villa. she’s at the pool when it opens, but hasn’t been in the water in a decade. she lunches on strawberry daiquiris + kent 100’s and reads a sidney sheldon novel every day. but if lung cancer and cirrhosis aren’t your things, you can just buy the perfume instead.

luckily for us, summer hours has generously given me a code for all of you to use for their birthday. you can use the promo-code: SUMMER25 to get 25% your purchase. this is a pretty big discount and the first one they’ve ever offered!

use it and let me know what you think!

love,

katie
