we’ve had some delicious food this summer, eaten at some spiffy restaurants, but so far nothing beats this 5-ingredient masterpiece.
tomatoes, candy sweet, fresh from my dad’s garden.
aromatic basil snipped directly from my patio pot.
the creamiest burrata in town.
and a 25-year-old aged balsamic, so honey-thick, its olive oil sibling is left unused.
put them on plate, add a couple of toast points, and voilà ! you have the best tasting meal, in my opinion, of the summer.
bon appétit m’loves.
Tomatoes are my favorite food on the planet (besides coffee, which counts as it's own food group to me…). That looks amazing.
Get in my belly!
YUM!!!
Funny you posted that – we've been eating it all summer. Also, for the first time in 15 years of living in LA – I finally had good peaches. I've been cutting up peaches left and right and combining it with heirloom tomatoes, basil, burrata and a little proscuitto or grilling the peaches and making a plate of arugala, burrata and proscuitto. Looks delish! Love tomatoes fresh from the garden. My new neighbors that moved in have a restaurant down your way Park Avenue and Il Garage in Stanton Beach – all fresh ingredients right from their garden. I get the benefit of fresh tomatoes. Stop in.
My favorite, yum! And your dad's tomatoes look amazing! I may have to make this for dinner tonight!

Now that looks delicious. The only thing I would do different is make some whole wheat pizza dough and create some magic on the grill.
Im hunting down that balsamic ~ thick like syrup leaves me weak in the knees.
