a weekend happy indeed.
it started a day early, thursday afternoon, on PCH….literally. a visit to my friend mary jo matsumoto’s trunk show for her fabulous handbags {many of which i’m lucky to carry}, where i shopped, gabbed and gushed over her beautiful designs and eagerly anticipated my order for her newest creation: 4FREE- a line of the most amazing nail polish i’ve ever seen or used.
the first time i saw mary jo wearing 4FREE, aptly named because it is free of all the scuzzy muck in most polishes {formaldehyde, DBP/dibutyl phthalate, toulene, or camphor}, she had layered emerald bay over ritz cove. from the moment i saw that finger party going on, i was OBSESSED! i could not wait to have it on my fingers and toes too. now i finally do. all of the colors are have quintessential southern california beach monikers: trestles, crystal cove, wet sand, & laguna shimmer.
the quality of the polish is par none {so mary jo}. it’s thick and you really only need one coat. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE.
i’m pretty sure she’s sold out of the individual polishes but there are a couple of trios still available….get em while they’re still out.
i hear though, new colors are coming in for the new year.
saturday was for eating. hh and i made a stop at our favorite farmers market where orange county’s best food trucks corral at lunch time, making it a fabulous albiet difficult choice for food.
we went argentine this time.
we opted for tacos tofu; bites so delicious they could render some blind and deaf.
an extra hard spin class earlier in the day called for a side of chimichurri fries…..why aren’t all fries made this way?
and the piece de resistance: caprese empanadas. all the planking and push-ups of 10:30am pilates completely for naught.
my trip to oc mixmart is never complete without a stop to portola coffee lab, orange county’s best coffee.
sure it takes 6 minutes for one cup of coffee, but that coffee is organic, fair-traded, ground, brewed and cradled with more care than a newborn baby.
i adore portola coffee lab and every stinking bean they roast.
my trifecta, sumatra blue-batak to-g0!
sunday night called for sparkle and shimmer. nails slicked with emerald bay & trestles.
tell me m’loves, how was your weekend?
were there lots of holiday parties? was there food, drink & merry making?
how i love to hear from you.
a monday happiest all around!
i love mary jo's stuff… those color are amazing!!!
Katie, sorry for the delayed response I was in LA yesterday sans computer and then all flu-ey today…anyway, these colors look so cool on you–I love seeing your fingers doing every day stuff like eating a sandwich and that last image with the pearls is sooooo Marilyn Minter–love!
